This is the EIP cast tubular exhaust manifold. The Auto meter EGT probe is mounted just below the turbine inlet.
This is a better picture of the EGT probe mounting. Nothing like drilling a hole in a 450 dollar manifold...
This is the exhaust housing A/R number cast into the turbine inlet. You can see where the bolts loosened and worn the turbine housing. Damn poly-urethane motor mounts...
This is the A/R of the compressor
This is the Turbo mounted to the EIP cast tubular Manifold, the deltgate mounts to the bottom of the manifold off the #2 cylinder runner. I don't care for that design, but it does fit.
This is where the turbo winds up on a 16V Scirocco, plenty of clearance to the firewall.
Bahn Brenner could have made the injectors a little easier to seal up. Takes me three tries to get all the gas leaks taken care of. Turbo water cooler lines, makes for a toasty heater in the winter!
Cams, timing chain and 440 cc injectors.
Side view all assembled and ready to go.
Front view, looks a lot nicer now that I got the chance to clean things up a bit.
I decided I wanted to run the plug wires under the intake and make for a cleaner appearance.
This is the oil return line. It is Teflon with a s.s. braid over it. AN-8 fittings on the oil pan and 3/8th pipe on the turbo side.
This where most of the wires for the Digi conversion are routed. I trimmed all the leads that were too long down and wrapped the harness back up. I also got a pipe fitting to install the blue Coolant temp sensor. It goes into a heater hose like a splice and has the receptacle for the CTS. Kind of nice of VW to make just the thing I needed.
And finally, I tapped two 1/8" pipe holes into my intake for better vacuum signals to the map sensor and fuel pressure regulator.
